Demonstrate your thought leadership with the world's largest IR community
NIRI seeks presentation and session ideas for conferences, seminars, symposia, online coursework, and webinars. Submit your ideas for consideration and the opportunity to share what makes you a thought leader in the world's largest IR community.

How to Submit

Review the helpful tips on this page.  You may submit as many ideas as you wish by first creating a Submission Account.  You will receive via email a link to the online submission form.  We recommend that you use the Session Submission Preparation Form, before filling out the online version, to gather your thoughts and appropriate information .

When submissions are ready, fill out all fields in the online form to create a concise representation of your session idea.  Submissions only will be excepted via the online form.

Selection Criteria

The core principles of NIRI Professional Development promote world-class education that offers insightful content and networking opportunities to advance the practice of investor relations, professional competency and stature of IR professionals.

Ideal submissions succinctly demonstrate relevancy to IR practices, hot topics and forward looking ideas. Sessions representing multiple corporate practitioner views are typically the highest rated and most valued by attendees. Practitioner views may offer greater insight when supported with the aggregate experiences of counselors or providers who have addressed relevant challenges.

Submissions are reviewed based on relevancy to the aforementioned core principles, speaker topic expertise, timely teaching of skills related to the function of IR and completeness.

Submission Sections

Session
Please provide session details, including a proposed session title, category selections and a concise description. Ensure that the specific details provided are targeted to the intended audience.

Session Types
Discussion/Hot Topic: A concurrent session discussion led by one or two facilitators where the majority of the content comes from attendees. A facilitator will have a deep understanding of the topic and will quickly set up the discussion. These sessions may cover topics or functions where few best or leading practices exist, or where regulatory requirements are not yet known.

Plenary/General: A presentation to the full group of attendees. Topics and speakers must be compelling to this large audience and representative of the global IR community.

Structured/Panel: A traditional-style session with one to four instructors or speakers instructing attendees on how to meet a standard, best or leading practice with regards to a specific topic or function. Content comes from speakers and the session covers fundamental to advanced understanding of the topic or function. Panel discussions with moderators are included in this group.

Workshop/Case-Based: Similar in kind to a structured session, workshops focus on in-depth instruction of practice(s) highlighted through the use of case studies or exercises. Constructive interaction, useful data and actionable material are key elements of successful workshops.

Key Learning Objectives and Session Material

Learning objectives identify behavioral outcomes attendees should learn from the session. (Hint: “After attending the session, attendees will be able to ...”)  Session-relevant actionable material, such as checklists and sample documents, are strongly recommended.

Lead Speaker/Moderator

The lead speaker or moderator is the primary contact for sessions and will be tasked to drive the on-time completion of session deliverables (e.g., preparation of conference calls, slide deck, actionable material, etc).

Co-Speakers/Panelists

Identify speakers to join the lead speaker/moderator in delivering the session. (Note: In cases where co-speakers are not yet known, but will be included in the final session, identify the target speakers, their desired expertise and the topics they will cover.)

Provide information to assist in the review of the submitted session. The Terms and Conditions box in this section must be checked in order to have a session reviewed.
